Dr Kevin Runions

Consulting in Bullying Prevention & Student Mental Health

Kevin holds PhD and Masters degrees in Human Development and Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education/University of Toronto, as well as a Bachlor of Science (Honours) in Psychology and a Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior Education) from Queen's University

Kevin is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow with the Centre for Child Health Research, Division of Paediatrics the University of Western Australia and an Honorary Research Associate at the Kids Research Institute Australia. He also holds an appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct), Department of Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Kevin has spent more than two decades working in child and youth mental health research. Starting his academic career in psychological research, he has since broadened his focus to applied intervention and strategic development in collaboration with schools, government and NGOs.

Since 2006, Kevin has been working in school-based bullying and cyberbullying prevention and mental health promotion and intervention. He has consulted with governments in Canada and Australia, providing expert advice and strategic planning, including

  • The Victoria Department of Education (Australia)

  • Independent Schools Australia

  • Provincial Auditor of Saskatchewan (Canada)
