I earned my PhD and Masters degrees in Human Development and Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE)/University of Toronto, as well as a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology and a Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior Education) from Queen's University.
I am a Research Associate at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) Research Institute, an Honorary Research Associate at the Kids Research Institute Australia and Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) with the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
I have spent more than two decades studying child and youth well-being, mental health research, bullying and aggression. Starting my academic career in psychological research, I have since broadened my focus to applied intervention and strategic development in collaboration with schools, government and NGOs.
Since 2006, I have been working in school-based bullying and cyberbullying prevention and mental health promotion and intervention. I have consulted with governments in Canada and Australia, providing expert advice and strategic planning, including
